"...i gave it a 5/10 myself and i made it."

There's just your problem: There are thousands (if not millions) of Newgrounds members that frequent the Audio Portal, bringing about thousands if not millions of different minds. They don't always think that a 5/10 is what you deserve.

Quite personally, I agree fully with Mystery-Moon-Pie-Aud, that metal is more than just guitars and drums. Not only that, but the quality is poor and the synching leaves much to be desired.

XunpureX responds:

all i have is guitar and drums though. i have sad equipment really. i have no professional way of recording, no mixing and editing software other then windows recording. i also use my amp to record to record into the computer, instead of directly. i dont use a metronome or even write the songs. i just make it up as i go. really i put no effort into any of my recording tracks. bare minimum dude.

Not stolen...

...but unoriginal and considerably sloppy nonetheless. You did nothing more than using the original Holiday melody under a new synth and I feel as if the kick drum is about to eat me. Even if it is a recreation, add something more to it.

Well done, good sir.

I can see why this is on the Top 5. It has a dancing-near-a-water-fountain feel to it.

Keep making music.

Hilarious, even for someone screwing around.

If everyone in the world had a sadistic sense of humor and good producing skills, the world would be a better place.

demented2005 responds:

Haha, thanks man

Here's a five for you, big guy.

Heh. I mean it in a good way, but I can still see your jazzy side in this song X 3

Keep making music.

Just enough...

It has that touch of Yelltek but is still original. Well done.

Dj-Brand0 responds:

Thanks Nicolas! Really glad you liked it.
Yeah definitely that touch.

-Cheers Brando ^_^

Very well made.

I suggest making more and talking to Scott Ransoomair about putting this up on the website.

Very well made.

The synths, guitars and drums mix very well.

NemesisTheory responds:

thanks, I'm glad you think so! :D

I'm going to be BRUTALLY honest.

I have absolutely no clue as to how this got SOTW. I'm sorry, this is just bad. It doesn't even SOUND like any real effort was put behind it, humorous or not. How this song even resembles humor escapes my imagination.

-Opening instruments sounded incredibly generic.
-I would've let the vocals go if they were actually funny.
-I understand that house songs are supposed to have a little bit of an "airy" or "open" feel to them, but there was absolutely no depth whatsoever.

I'm not a douchebag; believe me, I'm saying what I feel as civilly (albeit realistically) as possible. So, in closing, please put more effort behind your songs.

daperson1 responds:

As I have stated numerous times, there was little effort put into this music. It was created as a joke, submitted to enable easier distribution among a small group of friends, and, thanks to the efforts of hundreds of members here, attained the honour of being one of the songs of the week. I did not choose for this to happen - it simply happened. You guys did it, not me :).
There was no consideration to genre conformity given to this piece. It has no genre, so none can be allocated to it. As a result, the allocation of this genre was somewhat random, but seemed to fit best.
Perceived level of 'funnyness' is subjective. It would appear you are outvoted by the majority of your peers in your opinion of the vocals (All about 12 seconds of them, you will note. In this several minute song. Hmm.)

Yeah. I'm an EDM nerd surrounded by rock and country music. Don't ask how it happened. I'm slow to produce tracks as it is, and college isn't helping. So if you enjoy my work, please be patient.
