It's not so much that you used loops...

...but you didn't do anything special with them. Add some of your own bass, add counter-melody, layer the loops on top of each other -- do something interesting.

Hacsev responds:

Dude, I don't own any instrument.

Good producing, good composition...

...but in this particular instance, I think the song needs to be more...moving, for lack of a better word. This could mean dynamic contrast, it could mean effects such as phasing and filtering. But I think the song needs more life. Other than that, fantastic job. 4/5.

Submergence responds:

I understand what you're saying. Good stuff to have in mind while putting together our next mix. Thanks for the review.

Could have been better.

My main complaint is the kick. I just don't think that a traditional preset kick would work for this song. A filtered kick + sub-bass combination would work best.

4/5.

Meonly70 responds:

Um, the bass during the melody is the main kick and is exactly what you said, the other intro kick is just for the intro.

Even for electro...

...I felt that the chords could have used more depth. Still, nice work.

Acid-Paradox responds:

Thanks for the advice!

Fantastic job.

That's a great take on the Toxic Caves theme.

However, might I suggest using a different kick? I think a kick for trance purposes is much more suitable. If you manage to find a good kick to replace the current one with, the song will be perfect.

PaulyBFromDa303 responds:

One of the hardest things making this song was finding the best bass . . . but a lot of people like the one I used. That's ok, everyone's got their opinions and I thank you for your honesty.

The selection I had for bass kinda sucked . . . like theres only one that suited it. All the rest of them you couldn't really hear lol. I totally need a new program.

Oh well, thanks for the review

Nothing wrong with composition here.

Just quality issues, as mentioned in previous comments.

SessileNomad responds:

agreed

It would have been perfect...

...if the kick drum wasn't eating up the other instruments like Pac Man. X 3

See if you can do something about it. If you ever do revise this version, contact me. I'd love to throw it into my setlist.

Airprogressive responds:

thanks!
good suggestion! I'm not sure about doing a new version of this track, but if I finally do that, I would tell you!

Great job...

...but a lot of depth is missing. If you ever want to go back to work on this track, consider adding some middle frequencies, pads/strings, and/or more hi-hat/cymbal rhythms. A rhythmic low frequency might help as well, but it's not something that you'd die without.

Keep making Trance, my friend.

DeatHTaX responds:

Right on man. Thanks for the insight. I appreciate it :D

The song sounded somewhat...

...stale. That's the best way I can put it. It has the potential to be something brilliant, but it just doesn't have as much oomph to it. It's hard to explain.

One thing to definitely add is some hi-hat rhythms. It really adds depth to the song.

Meonly70 responds:

Well If i had another +2 years of experience like all the Big names on NG, it would sound much different.

Composition is good...

...but the mastering and maybe even the instruments could use some work. Try using a dry sawtooth instrument with staccato notes on the lead instead of sine waves with delay on them. The sine synth brings about an annoying ringing noise. Also, an occasional scratching noise comes up in various parts of the song.

Here's something daring: Take the scores for this song and shift it more toward an electro-house style. It would really fit.

Not bad at any rate, but consider making significant changes to the project.

Bobo-boy responds:

thanks mate ;D
next time better XD

Yeah. I'm an EDM nerd surrounded by rock and country music. Don't ask how it happened. I'm slow to produce tracks as it is, and college isn't helping. So if you enjoy my work, please be patient.
